Interactive Materiality
Understanding and augmenting the subtly of material qualities through interaction. The final design, MÆSH, unfolds the fascinating visual effect known as Moiré: a flickering pattern produced when systematic patterns are layered. The design results from material engagement with polyethylene rubber mesh, and seeks to augment its moiré features through spatial interaction. By tuning the specific variables that moiré is influenced by the visitor gets to explore the expressivity through both direct and distant interactions.
